Content

Performance modeling and capacity planning of IT systems

Modern IT systems consist of a lot of components with complex interconnection between them. For systems design not only functional requirements but also non-functional properties have to be considered. A very important non-functional property is the system performance measured as throughput or latency. Performance is an important factor for the choice of number and capacity of systems components. In this seminar we investigate current topics in performance modeling and capacity planning of IT systems, like webserver or SOAs. This includes mathematical approaches as well as simulations.

Organization

The talks will be organized as a one- or two-day workshop in the middle of the semester. The time slot on Tuesday is only for few organisational meetings.
